Ocean Basket launched an exciting new sushi menu at the end of October 2013. The menu included a wide selection of new and delectable sushi creations. The campaign was driven by the tagline: "Sushi so good the Japanese want it back" featuring a ninja attempting to steal the sushi. So Interactive had to translate that into a high impact digital component.
Translate the campaign into an entertaining and highly engaging digital marketing component that would support the overall campaign idea and messaging.
Create a Facebook gaming app that would be as addictive as the new sushi dishes.
"Slap em Sushi" was our creative team's solution. Set over a scrumptious looking sushi platter it was up to fans to stop four gloved ninja hands and a feline paw from getting to the sushi. To do so they had to slap them away with their protective hand, and there was a timer. To win fans had to slap away the thieves for long enough to make it to the top of the "Wall of Fame".
Our application developers transformed the designs into an entertaining and competitive user experience with ever increasing and randomised speeds of attack. The old school sound track and yelping sound effects of the ninjas and the cat, made for a fun and addictive gaming experience. The gaming app was accessible across all devices and is still available to play on Facebook.
